Our pilot project, to develop the viability of growing healthy and low-carbon food all year round in a controlled environment with innovative systems based on hydroponics and aquaponics. This is the ‘Grow Box’; a recycled shipping container repurposed as an optimised food production system growing fresh produce (salad leaves, herbs and fish) for the local market all year round. Now based at our new site on Feeder Road where we can both develop our small-scale horticulture business and deliver engagement, training and volunteer opportunities with different groups and individuals around growing food and a business.
